AMU North Jutland Link to our international department (in english)


is the largest vocational training centre for adults in Denmark outside Copenhagen.

It was established in 1961 as a part of the national AMU-system and covers with its activities North Jutland which is the biggest region in Denmark. The abreviation AMU means training for labour market needs, which as in a nutshell reflects the profile of our institution It is a part of the educational system in Denmark but at the same time plays important role in the regional active labour market policy and supports human resource development both for enterprises and employment service system.

The centre is non-profit and self-governing institution with a Governing Body consisting of representatives from the employees' and the employers' organisations.

The main task of AMU North Jutland is to assist regionally and locally with efficient training offers which ensure both each individual participant and various trade sectors a constant adjustment of qualifications to the demands of the labour market. The training programmes (the AMU programmes) are typically developed in collaboration with local enterprises, the public employment services, public institutions, local trade unions, local educational institutions and with University of Aalborg .
